At the Blue Coat we value inclusion, diversity, tolerance, love, respect, and equality ALWAYS.  We strive to create an environment that champions the motto ‘Everyone Is Welcome Here'.  We recognise the need to respect the lived experience of others whilst encouraging openness to invite questions and, on the occasions where our values are challenged, respond in an appropriate and supportive manner.  We encourage an Active Bystander Approach, making it everyones responsibility to act in some way when they witness something they do not agree or feel comfortable with. 

The School is very fortunate to have staff and students from a large variety of diverse backgrounds and cultures. We encourage ‘Shaping Character’ opportunities, so our students can lead activities and projects to develop their own understanding of themselves and others.  Providing an environment that not only promotes inclusion but celebrates difference and strives for equality.
